From October 2020, employers in Spain are liable for the expenses incurred by employees working remotely. The rights of remote employees are equal to those working in-person at the workplace in terms of wages, work schedules, job training, professional advancement, anti-discrimination, and health and safety standards.

Remote employees are entitled to disconnect from the workplace (desconexión digital) at the end of the workday.
