Overview on remote work regulations in Romania

Remote work in Romania needs to be be governed by a full-time employment contract or a separate statute, although the employer will be responsible for approving the workplace. A remote working agreement also establishes some requirements, such as requiring employees to work remotely at least once a week. Employers will only be entitled to access workers who work from home if they have given them advance notice.

The employer is responsible for providing proper software, data security, and training and covering the costs of communication and technical support. Damages to work equipment and all other products received from the employer to work remotely shall be the employee's responsibility.
